Former Owl Tom Mattera enters his fourth season as an assistant coach with the program in 2015.

Mattera rejoined the Owls after two seasons on the staff at the University of New Haven. During his time with the Chargers, Mattera helped coach the team to a berth in the Northeast-10 Conference Tournament.

Mattera has also gained additional experience with the Connecticut ODP State coaching staff, Shoreline FC and as Director of the Norwalk Micro Accel Program. Mattera holds a USSF National B License as well as a USSF National Youth License.

Mattera entered the coaching field after a decorated playing career with the Owls. Mattera was part of two NCAA Tournament squads, including the 2006 team that reached the national quarterfinals and the 2007 team that won the Northeast-10 Conference Tournament.
