Southern Connecticut State University Athletics

Michele Griffith is in her fourth season as men's and women's diving coach at Southern Connecticut State, coaching 1-meter and 3-meter diving.

Griffith graduated from Alfred University in 1990 with a bachelor's degree in marketing and management. She was a varsity swimmer and diver at Alfred, a two-year captain and Academic All-Conference selection.

She coached high school diving for 23 years in the Naugatuck Valley League before joining Southern. At Southern, she has coached NCAA qualifiers who have finished in the top three at the NCAA championships from 2022-26. The Owls women have won Northeast 10 championships from 2023-26 and the men won NE10 titles from 2023-25.

Griffith lives in Essex, Connecticut, with her family, including a mini labradoodle named Mookie. She has three children — Christopher, 33; Drew, 26, a Southern Connecticut alumnus; and Sarah, 22, a Bentley University graduate.
