Southern Connecticut State University Athletics

Former Owls' captain Dieter Gutbrod is an assistant coach with the Owls.

During his collegiate career, he was a NCAA qualifier in cross country and three-time All-Region and All-Conference cross country honoree. Gutbrod was also a multiple All-New England and All-Region honoree in track and field. Gutbrod ran a leg of the 2017 New England runner-up 4x800 relay and was the 2014 NE10 Champion in 1000 meters.
