Southern Connecticut State University Athletics

Colleen Murphy is in her seventh year as an Athletic Communications Assistant at Southern Connecticut State University in 2022-23. She will serve as the primary contact for the field hockey, volleyball, women's basketball and softball programs.

Murphy, a 2016 graduate of SCSU and former student-athlete on the field hockey team, spent two years as an undergraduate assisting in the athletic communications office. In this role, she took part in a variety of roles, including statistical caller, announcer for Owls' broadcasts and was a photographer and videographer for athletic events.

In addition to her undergraduate degree in communication with a focus on public relations and advertising from SCSU, Murphy earned her master's degree in sport business from Drexel University. While at Drexel, Murphy served as a graduate fellow in the sport business department and completed a team market research analysis for the National Lacrosse League.

During her time as a student-athlete at SCSU, Murphy was lauded twice by the National Field Hockey Coaches Association for her work in the classroom and was a multiple selection to the NE10 Conference Commissioner's Honor Roll. Murphy, who led the Owls' in goals and points as a senior, was also recognized as a Division II Athletic Directors Association Academic Achievement Award recipient.

She currently resides in Branford, Conn.
