A decorated two-sport standout in field hockey and lacrosse at Southern Connecticut State University, Grace Martha is in her first season as an assistant coach with the Owls.
Martha finished her career ranked first all-time at SCSU in groundballs (149) and assists (22). As a junior, she ranked second in the NCAA in groundballs/game and set a new program single-season high with 72 groundballs.
A two-year team captain, Martha scored 84 points (62 goals, 22 assists), which ranks fourth all-time in that department.
During her four years with the field hockey team, Martha tallied 51 points (12 goals, 27 assists). Her assist total ranks second all-time at SCSU.
She captained the 2008 squad that qualified for the NCAA Tournament. For her efforts, she was selected to play in the NFHCA North-South Senior All-Star game.
Martha holds a bachelor’s degree in recreation and leisure from SCSU.
She currently resides in Cheshire, Conn.
