Former standout Lauren Tamborino is in her fifth season as an assistant coach with the Southern Connecticut State University field hockey and lacrosse programs.
During her four years as an assistant coach, Tamborino has coached nine All-Northeast-10 Conference field hockey picks, along with 10 NFHCA Senior All-Star Game honorees and three All-Americans.
The Owls also qualified for the NCAA Tournament for the second time in school history in 2008.
As a student-athlete, Tamborino suited up for the Owls from 2004-05 and was a National Field Hockey Coaches Association National Academic Team selection.
Prior to joining the Owls as a student-athlete, Tamborino played two years at the University of Connecticut.
She previously served as an assistant coach at E.O. Smith High School in Storrs, Conn., and King and Low-Heywood Thomas School in Stamford, Conn.
Tamborino also has additional coaching experience with the Ultimate Field Hockey School and has been the co-organizer of the Middle School program for the Stamford (Conn.) Youth Organization.
She holds a bachelor’s degree in history from SCSU.
Tamborino currently resides in Hamden, Conn.
