Southern Connecticut State University Athletics

Sam Trumbley is in his second year as an Athletic Communications Graduate Assistant at Southern Connecticut State University in 2025-26.

Trumbley currently serves as the primary contact for Women’s Soccer, Men’s Basketball, Baseball, Cross Country, and Track and Field. He also serves as a primary contact for social media and content planning. In this role, he acts as a correspondent between the teams and Athletic Communications. This includes responsibilities such as writing up game stories, recording statistics, and serving as a medium between players and media. He also creates, edits, and produces social media content, including graphics, pictures, and videos. 

He began working for SCSU Athletics in 2023 as a student worker, performing multiple roles in the Athletic Communications department. Primarily, he served as play-by-play commentator and PA announcer for Baseball, Men’s and Women’s Basketball, Men’s and Women’s Soccer, Field Hockey, Volleyball, Lacrosse, Softball, and Track and Field. 

Trumbley graduated Magna Cum Laude from SCSU in 2024 with a bachelor’s degree in Computer Science and a minor in Mathematics and Honors. He is currently pursuing a masters degree in sport management.
