Yakabu Ibrahim was stellar during his career in a Southern uniform, qualifying for the NCAA National Championships in the 60-meter hurdles during the indoor season and in the 110-meter hurdles during the outdoor season in 2014, 2015, 2017, and 2018. Ibrahim also earned All-American honors in the 60-meter hurdles in 2015, 2017, and 2018, and in the 110-meter hurdles in 2017 and 2018, and was a 12-time All-Region selections. 

Ibrahim won 12 championships between NE10 competition and New England meets. He was a three-time New England Champion and two-time NE10 Champion in the 60-meter hurdles, won the 110-meter hurdle and 4x100-meter New England Championship in 2018, and was a three-time Northeast 10110-Meter Hurdle Champion and two-time 4x100-Meter Relay Champion.
