Ben Martin is in his first year as an Athletic Communications Graduate Assistant at Southern Connecticut State University in 2025-26.
Martin currently serves as the primary contact for Men’s Soccer, Men’s and Women’s Swim and Dive and Softball. In this role, he acts as a correspondent between the teams and Athletic Communications. This includes responsibilities such as writing up game stories, recording statistics, helping run the live stream feed and serving as the medium between the players and media.
He began working for SCSU Athletics in 2021 as a freshman student worker, performing multiple roles in the Athletic Communications department. Primarily, he was a play-by-play commentator and PA announcer for Baseball, Field Hockey, Men’s and Women’s Basketball, Men’s and Women’s Soccer, Lacrosse, Softball, Swimming and Diving and Volleyball.
Martin graduated from SCSU in 2025 with a bachelor’s degree in Journalism and a minor in Honors. He is currently pursuing a master’s degree in sport management.
