Ella MacLean is a graduate assistant for strength and conditioning at Southern Connecticut State and a former All-Conference student-athlete for the Owls women's track and field team.

MacLean is from Hanover, New Hampshire. She competed for Southern from 2021-26 as a sprinter and was named Northeast 10 Track Rookie of the Year in 2022 after winning the NE10 100-meter dash championship — Southern's first champion in the event since 2016 and the second freshman ever to win it. She was also named SCSU Female Rookie of the Year at the inaugural Owl Awards.

As a freshman, MacLean set the program record in the 300-meter dash with a time of 41.63 at the Sharon Colyear-Danville Season Opener in Boston and later won the 60-meter dash at the New England championships in 7.62 seconds against a field of Division I athletes. She earned three All-New England honors at that meet, finishing second in the 200 meters, and went on to win two New England 100-meter titles, back-to-back NEICAAA 60-meter championships and multiple All-NE10 honors. She tied the program record in the 60 meters and was part of record-setting 4x100 and 4x400 relay teams. She was named to the NE10 Academic All-Conference team multiple times.

MacLean earned NE10 Track Rookie of the Week and Relay Team of the Week honors as a freshman and helped Southern to top-five finishes at the New England championships.

In her graduate assistant role, MacLean assists with strength and conditioning for Olympic sports, focusing on speed development, movement mechanics and athlete wellness.
