Southern Connecticut State University Athletics

NEW HAVEN, Conn. – Sophomore Leanna Jadus (Long Beach, Calif.) of the volleyball team and sophomore Alex Brown (Rocky Hill, Conn.) of the men’s soccer team have been named as the Southern Connecticut State University Athletes of the Week.

Jadus powered the Owls to a 2-0 week with non-conference wins over Bloomfield and Queens. She narrowly missed a double-double in the first game against Bloomfield with nine kills and 12 digs. Jadus then followed that up with 19 kills and 17 digs in a thrilling five-set win over Queens. She finished one off her career high in kills in that match and was also one attack attempt away from matching her own program single-game record (68 attempts).

Brown netted a goal in each of the Owls’ two victories last week. He tallied markers in Southern’s triumphs over Bridgeport and St. Michael’s.
