Southern Connecticut State University Athletic Department Teams Up With American Red Cross South Central Connecticut Chapter At Basketball Doubleheader

NEW HAVEN, Conn. – The American Red Cross South Central Connecticut Chapter was on hand at Moore Fieldhouse on Wednesday evening to educate and accept donations for the Red Cross National Disaster Relief Fund, which has been depleted due to the dramatic Midwest flooding in the spring and recent hurricanes Gustav and Ike. The event took place in conjunction with the men's and women's basketball doubleheader against the University of New Haven.

The American Red Cross helps people prevent, prepare for, and respond to emergencies. An average of 91 cents of every dollar the Red Cross spends is invested in humanitarian services and programs. The Red Cross is not a government agency and relies on donations of time, money and blood to do its work.
