Lauren Zarrella (Morris, Conn.), a freshman goalkeeper on the Southern Connecticut State University field hockey team, recently participated in a Penguin Plunge event. The Penguin Plunge is an event that is held to raise funds for Special Olympics Connecticut. Numerous plunges are held during the course of the year.  "Penguins" solicit donations from family, friends and local businesses in order to take the plunge.
