Cathy Cardini Completes 130-Mile AngelRide Event

Cathy Cardini participated in the AngelRide, a 130-mile bike trek across Connecticut that benefits children with cancer and other life-threatening illnesses.
NEW HAVEN, Conn. – Cathy Cardini, assistant coach of the Southern Connecticut State University women's lacrosse program and a former Owls' two-sport standout in both lacrosse and field hockey, was one of 215 cyclists who participated in the 2008 AngelRide event on May 24-25. The two-day event spanned 130 miles across the state of Connecticut from Norfolk to Mystic.

AngelRide directly supports the Hospital Outreach Program at The Hole in the Wall Gang Camp in Ashford. The annual event, which is a part of Angel Charitable Trust, helps children with cancer and other life-threatening diseases by opening windows of happiness during their most intense periods of treatment.

The "Camp in a Suitcase" program, administered by the Hole in the Wall Gang Camp during the childrens' periods of hospitalization, connects these childrens' extraordinary spirit with the magic of a summer camp experience.
