WORCESTER, Mass. – Sophomore Broghan Miller (West Hartford, Conn.) led the Southern Connecticut State University volleyball team with 13 kills on Wednesday night as the Owls defeated Assumption, 3-0. SCSU won by the scores of 25-11, 25-13 and 25-19.

The Owls improve to 11-3 on the season. Assumption is now 2-4.

SCSU took a commanding lead in the first game and used that momentum to win big in their next two matches. Freshman Andrea Nolan (Ridgefield, Va.) led the Owls with a game-high 28 assists. Junior Marcia Hollingsworth (Alexandria, Va.) and freshman Leah Filonuk (Greenlawn, N.Y.) each tallied eight kills in the win. Sophomore Robin Priest (Cheshire, Conn.) added a team-high 12 digs.

The Owls are back in action on Friday, Sept. 19 at 7 p.m. when they return home to face Saint Anselm.
