NEW HAVEN, Conn. – The Southern Connecticut State University volleyball team fell to Bentley on Wednesday night, 3-1. Freshman
Leah Filonuk (Greenlawn, N.Y.) had 11 kills and a team-high 13 digs for the Owls. Bentley won by the scores of 25-27, 25-15, 25-15 and 25-23.
The loss ended the Owls eight game win streak. They are now 15-4 overall and 3-1 in the Northeast-10 Conference. Bentley is now 9-5.
Sophomore
Broghan Miller (West Hartford, Conn.) had 11 kills and 12 digs. Freshman
Andrea Nolan (Ridegfield, N.J.) had a team-high 27 assists and senior
Alliana Lannigan (Selden, N.Y.) led the Owls defensively with five total blocks.
Alex Kearney and Alaura Berry had 13 kills each for Bentley.
The Owls return to action on Saturday, September 27 where they will host a tri-match with AIC and Molloy. They will face AIC at 11:00 a.m. and Molloy at 3:00 p.m.
