Final Results
NEW BRITIAN, Conn. - Junior
Amanda Burden (Orange, Conn.) and senior
Lauren Sasso (Orange, Conn.) finished first and second in the three-meter diving competition, however the Southern Connecticut State University women's swimming and diving team fell short to Central Connecticut State University, 124-117, in Sunday's meet.
Burden posted a score of 216.60 to gain the win, while Sasso had a 195.52 in a runner-up finish. The junior also came in first place posting a score of 232.72 in the one-meter dive.
Senior Jennifer O'Neil (Stratford, Conn.) came in first place in the 50 yard freestyle with a time of 25.37. O'Neil delivered her second first place finish of the day when she recorded a time of 1:08.73 to win the 100 yard breaststroke.
Sophomore
Amanda Thomas (Oakville, Conn.) raced to a first place finish in the 100 yard backstroke as she posted a time of 1:00.40.
The Owls finished the event with a team effort, as junior

Kayla Wainwright (Norwich, Conn.) worked together to win the 800 freestyle with a time of 8:18.91. The SCSU team of senior Jacyln Renzoni (Naugatuck, Conn.), freshman Catie Salter (Burlington, Conn.), sophomore
Kristen Schmid (Lidenhurst, N.Y.) and
Rhiannon Urciuoli (Seymour, Conn.) had a combined time of 8:40.71 to gain a runner-up finish, and the Owl group of freshman
Chelsea Price (Monroe, Conn.), freshman
Melissa Goehringer (Wantagh, N.Y.), freshman
Christine Katrenya (Oxford, Conn.) and senior
Laura DeGore (Lindenhurst, N.Y.) had a time of 9:12.94 to finish in third place.
