NEW HAVEN, Conn. – Sophomore Amanda Thomas (Watertown, Conn.) registered first-place finishes in the 100 backstroke, 200 butterfly and 400 individual medley to lead the Southern Connecticut State University women's swimming and diving team to a 152-138 win over C.W. Post on Saturday.
Thomas took the 100 backstroke in 59.72, the 200 fly in 2:10.05 and the 400 IM in 4:36.13.
Nicole Huerta (Santo Domingo, Dominican Republic) picked up the other two first-place finishes on the day for the Owls. She won both the 1,000 freestyle (10:54.98) and the 500 freestyle (5:21.59). She also placed third in the 200 freestyle.
Meghan Fay (Branford, Conn.) placed second in the 500 freestyle and third in the 1,000 freestyle. Sarah Thompson (Davenport, Iowa) was second in the 200 backstroke and third in the 100 breaststroke.
Jennifer O'Neil (Stratford, Conn.) placed second in both the 100 and 200 breaststroke.Anna Pleban (Seymour, Conn.) was third in both the 50 and 100 freestyle.
The Owls are back in action next weekend for the USMMA Invite.
