NEW HAVEN, Conn. – The Southern Connecticut State University athletic department has announced that it will host its annual 'Play 4 The Cure' event on Oct. 26 in conjunction with its field hockey game against Bentley. October is National Breast Cancer Awareness Month, and the Owls have will look to raise awareness for this cause through this event. The team will wear pink jerseys and pink socks for the game.
In addition, there are several other opportunities for fans to contribute to the American Cancer Society and its initiatives. A representative from ACS will be on site to collect contributions.
On game day, SCSU fans, students, parents and alumni can either make a one-time donation or donate a flat rate based on a variety of statistical totals that are compiled in the game.
