NEW HAVEN, Conn. -
Anna Pleban (Seymour, Conn.) was victorious in two individual events as the Southern Connecticut State University women's swimming and diving team fell to Marist 189-101.
The Owls' co-captain touched the wall first in the 200 yard butterfly (2:12.15) and the 500 yard freestyle (5:16.95).
Freshman
Katherine Krajcik (Stratford, Conn) finished first in 50 yard freestyle with a time of :25.53.
In the 400 yard IM, Owls' swimmers placed first through fourth.
Courtney Silva (Burnsville, Minn.) was first (4:43), followed by Libby Hess (Iowa City, Iowa) (5:01.09),
Rachel Smolensky (Norwalk, Conn.) (5:02.32) and
Molly Soufrine (Branford, Conn.) (5:13.30).
The relay team of Pleban, Krajcik,
Christina Lavery (West Haven, Conn.) and
Christine Katrenya (Oxford, Conn.) completed the 200 yard freestyle relay first in 1:41.53.
Katrenya finished second in the 100 yard backstroke (1:02.10), while Lavery was the runner-up in the 100 yard breastroke (1:12.63).
Hannah Olson (Torrington, Conn.) placed second in two events, the 200 yard freestyle (2:00.59) and the 500 yard freestyle (5:16.95).
The Owls compete next tomorrow afternoon at Connecticut College.
