NEW HAVEN, Conn. – The Southern Connecticut State University women's swimming and diving team fell to Pace University in NE10 action today with a score of 149-147.
TOP FINISHERS:
Senior
Katherine Crochet (Watertown, Conn.) led the Owls today with a three first place finishes in the 200 freestyle, 50 freestyle and 100 freestyle, registered a time of 1:57.52 in the 200 freestyle, a time of 24.71 in the 50 freestyle and a time of 53.18 in the 100 freestyle.
The Owls claimed the top three spots in the 200 breaststroke, senior
Lilly Martin (Bristol, Conn.) placed first with a time of 2:34.84, sophomore
Erin Leirey (Lake Katrine, N.Y.) finished second with a time of 2:35.10 and junior
Meaghan Spagnolo placed third with a time of 2:35.78.
The Owls fared well in the 100 butterfly with a first and third place finish from sophomore
Avery Fornaciari (Plymouth, Mass.) with a time of 1:01.54, junior
Emily Wolfe (Havertown, Pa.) notched a third place finish with a time of 1:02.50.
The quartet of
Alina Tucker (Bellmore, N.Y.),
Megan Garner (Hamden, Conn.),
Aubrey Bailey (El Cajon, Calif.) and Crochet registered a first place finish in the 200 freestyle relay with a time of 1:41.16.

The Owls are back in action tomorrow as WPI visits Hutchinshon Natatorium, the meet is set to begin at 4 p.m.
