Field Hockey Drops Decision To Saint Michael's

NEW HAVEN, Conn. -The Southern Connecticut State University field hockey fell to Saint Michael's College this afternoon, 2-0 at Jess Dow Field.

HOW IT HAPPENED
  • The first half was back-and-forth offensively for both teams, which forced the Saint Michael's goalie to pull out four saves to the Owls nine saves, but the game was at a stalemate at halftime.
  • The Purple Knights opened the scoring at 43:23 when Morgan Johnston knocked in a ball midair off a rebound to put Saint Michael's up 1-0.
  • Saint Michael's would add another goal six minutes later as Morgan Johnston scored her second of the game.
  • Senior Amanda Oberly (Stewartsville, N.J.) collected two defensive saves on the day for the Owls, and junior Brianna Craft (Hamden, Conn.) made 18 saves between the pipes.
