NOTABLE FACTS
  • After a 21 point performance, this is Fressle's second straight 20+ point game. She scored 20 points in the Owls win over Queens on Sunday.
  • This is back-to-back five steal games for Imani Wheeler (Dumfries, Va.) as she matched a team-high with five.

1st QUARTER
  •  Southern Connecticut started the game going on a 7-2 run in the first three minutes of play with the Owls run being capped off by a Fressle 3-pointer.
  • The Chargers made a push, where they came within three points of the Owls lead, but Southern kept their offense rolling and extended its lead to ten points. A few traded baskets kept the Owls up by seven points to complete the first frame.

2nd QUARTER
  • New Haven opened the second frame on a 6-0 run in the first two minutes.
  • Both squads traded points throughout the final eight minutes, with the Chargers taking a one point lead on two separate occasions, but the Owls came out on top heading into halftime with a narrow three-point lead.

3rd QUARTER
  • The third quarter was a back-and-forth scoring affair in first two minutes of the third quarter with the Chargers coming out on top to hold a nine-point lead, their largest of the quarter.
  • Southern went on a 7-0 run in the final two minutes, but the Chargers kept a four-point lead heading into the fourth quarter.

4th QUARTER
  • After a quick layup from Wheeler, UNH went on a 6-0 run in the opening minutes of the fourth quarter.
  •  Southern counterattacked with a 5-0 run of their own in a 90 second span.
  • A 12-2 Charger run in the remaining five minutes of the game increased their lead to 16 points as the Owls attempted to claw back after Allie Smith (Danbury, Conn.) sank a deep three-pointer, but New Haven's fourth quarter surge was enough to capture the victory.
