Field Hockey Falls To No. 7 Stonehill On Senior Day

NEW HAVEN, Conn. - The Southern Connecticut State University field hockey team honored its seven-member senior class, but fell to No. 7 Stonehill College this evening at Jess Dow Field.

The Owls honored seniors: Kelli McCombs, Natasha Prukalski, Emily Stross, Julia Honan, Jacqueline Touzos, Sadie Young and Amanda Oberly prior to the start of today's game. 

HOW IT HAPPENED
  • Stonehill opened the scoring at 7:17 when Kacie Smith got the Skyhawks on the board with her first of the game. The Skyhawks would go on to add five more goals and had a 6-0 lead heading into halftime.
  • The Skyhawks added two more second half goals to extend their lead to eight and solidified the victory in New Haven. 
  • Junior Brianna Craft (Hamden, Conn.) made 16 saves in relief for the Owls.

UP NEXT
The Owls are set to host Adelphi University in their final game of the regular season on Tuesday at 7 p.m. at Jess Dow Field.
