Steinauer's Record-Setting Performance Leads Owls Past Concordia, 96-48

NEW HAVEN, Conn. – Kiana Steinauer (Oakville, Ontario) had one of the greatest performances in Southern Connecticut women's basketball history, accumulating 33 points and 31 rebounds in a dominating display that led the Owls to a 96-48 win against Concordia (N.Y.) at Moore Field House. The Owls improve to 8-4 overall, while the Clippers drop to 2-9 overall.

Steinauer's historic outing resulted in the first 30-point, 30-rebound performance in Northeast 10 and SCSU women's basketball history. Additionally, it is the second 30-30 game in NCAA Division II women's basketball history, and the first since Benedict College's Destiny Betts did it in 2016. Steinauer broke her own SCSU single-game record, eclipsing her 23-rebound performance against Adelphi on Dec. 2, 2017. Just the second 30-rebound game in NE10 history, joining Assumption's Lisa McCarthy who had a 31-rebound performance against Saint Michaels on Feb. 12, 1983 it is also the second 30-rebound game in NCAA Division II women's basketball since 1996 and the 13th all-time in NCAA Division II history.

Amanda Pfohl (Trumbull, Conn.) picked up a career-high 20 points with six rebounds and a pair of assists. Erin Ryder (Congers, N.Y.) collected a career-high 14 points while chipping in a team-high two blocks, three rebounds and a steal. Allie Smith (Danbury, Conn.) notched her third-straight game with double-digit points with 10, while Aaliyah Walker (Toronto, Ontario) picked up her second-straight 10-point game with seven rebounds and six assists. Imani Wheeler (Dumfries, Va.) chipped in nine points, four assists and a steal for the Owls.
