RESULTS
WEST HAVEN, Conn. – Led by a sweep of the top three spots in the hammer throw, the Southern Connecticut State University women's outdoor track and field team competed at the Mark Young Invitational today.
Kathryn Heacox (Lakeville, Conn.) won the event with a toss of 52.29 meters.
Erin McKee (Brookfield, Conn.) was right behind with a throw of 51.76 meters, while
Aalayjhia Cobb (New Haven, Conn.) placed third (50.98m).
Rose Mwambayi (Stratford, Conn. ) came in fifth in the long jump with a leap of 5.19 meters.
Caylea Landrie (Danbury, Conn.) placed seventh with a mark of 5.14 meters.
Madeline Lynch came in 14th place (4.67m).
Landrie was also fourth in the triple jump (11.02m), while Mwambayi took eighth (10.69m).
Kiah Strickland (Uncasville, Conn.) took fourth place in the javelin with a throw of 37.13 meters.
Erin McKee (Brookfield, Conn.) took eighth place in the discus with a toss of 32.93 meters.
Elaina DiSalvo (Lake Grove, N.Y.) took 11th place in the pole vault (3.10m).
Natasha Fitzpatrick (West Moonah, Tasmania, Australia) also placed 11th in the 1500 meters with a time of 5:03.96.
Meghan Delaney (Old Saybrook, Conn.) took 13th in 5:12.97.
Alexandra Russo (Rocky Hill, Conn.) and
Claudia Marsh (Griswold, Conn.) placed 23rd and 31st, respectively, in that event.
Ashley Cummings (Bristol, Conn.) also came in 24th in the 800 meters.
