Game Recap: Men's Soccer |

Men's Soccer Falls To American International, 2-0

SPRINGFIELD, Mass. - The Southern Connecticut men's soccer team lost to American International College, 2-0, in a Northeast 10 Conference matchup in Springfield, Mass. With the loss, the Owls drop to 3-6-4 overall and 2-5-2 in the NE10 while AIC improves to 7-4-2 on the year with a conference record of 5-3-1.

HOW IT HAPPENED
  • Blaise Haba had a Grade-A opportunity just 1:34 into the game with a shot from inside the box, but his shot from the doorstep was just over the cross bar. 
  • Yanis Boucetta gave American International a 1-0 lead in the 21st minute of play before Adrian Romero converted on an attempt that beat Owls keeper Ian Shannon to the top right corner to give the Yellow Jackets a 2-0 lead in the 37th minute of play as AIC headed into the half with a 2-0 lead. 
  • Devante Teixeira had two scoring opportunities knocked down in traffic and Ignasi Perez's shot from in front of the goal was off the mark. 
UP NEXT
Southern will travel next week with stops at Bentley on Tuesday, Oct. 29 and Southern New Hampshire on Saturday, Nov. 2, before closing the regular season at home against Le Moyne on Wednesday, Nov. 6.
