Jessica Fressle (Levittown, N.Y) registered a career-high in points as the Southern Connecticut State University women's basketball team fell to New York Tech, 69-55. The Owls fall to 4-1 on the season, while the Bears improve to 3-2.
Fressle collected a career-high 24 points and eight rebounds shooting 9-for-16 from the floor. Freshman
Amani Boston (Boston, Mass.) tallied 12 points, five rebounds, five assists and three steals, while senior
Imani Wheeler (Dumfries, Va.) registered 10 points, four steals, three assists and three rebounds in the loss.

How It Happened
- The Owls went on an 11-2 run in the middle of the first quarter, but the Bears finished the quarter on a mini 4-0 run to come within two of SCSU's 13-11 lead.
- New York Tech limited SCSU to just three points in the second quarter. The Bears went on a 6-0 run to finish the second quarter up by seven.
- The Bears held their largest lead of the game in the third quarter as they led the Owls 50-30 in a frame where they scored 29 points. They led by 15 heading into the fourth quarter.
- The final quarter saw both teams trade points with SCSU narrowly outscoring New York Tech 18-17, but the Bears consistent play through 40 minutes proved to be the difference-maker.
Notes
- Jessica Fressle's 24 points was a career-high for the redshirt junior. Her previous career-high was last set on Nov. 10, 2018 when she had 22 points against Post University.
- Imani Wheeler collected her fifth-straight double-digit point game with 15 points.
- Wheeler has tallied four steals against New York Tech. She has collected at least one steal in each of the Owls five games this season.
