The Southern Connecticut State University volleyball team will face Assumption College on Saturday, Nov. 9 in Worcester, Mass. With SCSU's win over New Haven on Nov. 6, they leapfrogged Adelphi and currently sit seventh in Northeast 10, while the Greyhounds sit 13th. Both teams have two games remaining after Saturday's matinee at Andrew Laska Gym.

All-Time vs. Assumption
  • The Owls are 15-6 against the Greyhounds all-time. SCSU and Assumption squared off earlier this season on Sept. 7 when the Owls took a 3-0 decision at Moore Field House.
     
Last Time Out
  • The Owls defeated New Haven for the first time since 2015, 3-2 at Pelz Gymnasium.
  • Anna Venard's 37 digs are a SCSU volleyball program record and a career-high. The previous program record was set by Vanessa Sullivan against Philadelphia on Oct. 15, 2011 when she had 35. Venard's previous career-high was set on Sept. 25, 2016 against LIU Post when she has 29 digs. It also marks her ninth-straight match with double-digit digs and the 22nd match this season.
  • Tea Carter's 52 assists against New Haven are a career-high, a feat she has broken three times in her last four games. Her previous career-high was 51 assists against Saint Anselm on Nov. 2. Her 52 assists against UNH also make it the 18th game this season with 30-or-more assists and in 12 of her last 13 games. Carter's 52 assists and 14 digs was her seventh double-double of the year.
  • Gabriela Gaibur's 24 digs was a career-high. Her previous career-high was 19 against Adelphi on Oct. 29. She also tallied 10 kills against New Haven, making it a fifth-straight game that she has been in double-digit kills. Her 24 digs and 10 kills make it her fourth double-double in five games.
  • Ella White tallied a career-high 19 kills. Her previous career-high was 15 kills against Saint Anselm on Nov 2.
  • Abigail Epstein tied a career-high 15 kills and registered four blocks. She has tallied three-or-more blocks in 12 games this season.

Notes
  • Ella White currently leads Southern in kills (256) and kills per set (2.81) while also collected 22 service aces for the year.
  • Abigail Epstein is leads the team with a .252 hitting percentage while accumulating 229 kills for a 2.49 per set average.
  • Epstein is also second on the team with 29 service aces and leads the team in total blocks (56).
  • Jennifer Dawson currently leads the Owls with 37 service aces while also averaging 1.12 kills per set and 3.10 digs per set.
  • Tea Carter has dished out 807 assists to date for a 9.72 per set average. Carter is also third on the Owls' roster with 24 service aces.
  • Anna Venard leads the Owls with 397 digs for a 4.32 per set average.
  • Gabriela Gaibur has emerged in the second half of the season as she averages 2.20 kills per set and 3.27 digs per set and has 112 kills and 167 digs.
  • Erika Benson second in hitting percentage (.233) and total blocks (46).
  • Ariel Letcher is fourth on the team in kills (133) and fourth in kills per set (2.18) and is also averaging 2.26 digs per set.

  • Anna Venard is ninth in digs per set with 4.30 d/s.
  • Tea Carter is second in assists per set with 9.72 a/s.
  • Ella White is fifth in total kills with 256.
  • Abigail Epstein is third in total solo blocks with 17 and fifth in total blocks with 61.
