Women's Basketball Ousted By Le Moyne, 75-55

SYRACUSE, N.Y. – The Southern Connecticut State University women's basketball squad fell to Le Moyne, 75-55 at Ted Grant Court in Syracuse. The Owls drop to 13-13 overall and 7-11 in the Northeast 10, while the Dolphins improve 19-4 overall and 13-4 in the NE10.
 
Kiana Steinauer (Oakville, Ontario) collected her 21st double-double of the year with a game-high 17 points and 10 rebounds to go along with five steals and two assists. Imani Wheeler (Dumfries, Va.) collected 13 points and four assists, while Aaliyah Walker (Toronto, Ontario) collected nine points and five rebounds in the loss.
 
1st Quarter (SCS 16, LEM 13)
• The first quarter saw both teams in a neck-and-neck battle for the lead, but the Owls outscored the Dolphins, 16-13.
 
2ndQuarter (LEM 31, SCS 28)
• Le Moyne opened the second quarter on a 10-2 run that gave the Dolphins a seven-point lead with just over four minutes to play. Southern battled back, but Le Moyne took a narrow three-point lead heading into halftime. 
 
3rdQuarter (LEM 51, SCS 41)
• The Dolphins went on a 9-0 run over a minute and a half of play to extend their lead to 11-points in a quarter where Le Moyne outscored Southern 20-13.
 
4thQuarter (LEM 75, SCS 55)
• A 13-0 run to open the fourth frame allowed Le Moyne to extend their advantage to 24.
• Two back-to-back 20-point quarters in the second half of play proved to be the difference maker as the Dolphins collected the home victory in Syracuse, N.Y.
 
Facts
Kiana Steinauer collected her NCAA Division II and conference-leading 21st double-double of the year with 17 points and 10 rebounds. She has collected a double-double in six of the Owls last seven games.
• This is Imani Wheeler's fourth-straight game in double-digit points as she collected 13 on the day. 
 
Up Next
The Owls are set to travel to Garden City, N.Y. to face the Adelphi Panthers in Southwest Division action on Wednesday, Feb. 20 at 5:30 p.m.
