Owls Fall to LIU Post

BROOKEVILLE, N.Y. – The Southern Connecticut State University women's lacrosse team fell to LIU Post 15-5 at Bethpage Federal Credit Union Stadium. The Owls drop to 0-2 on the year while LIU Post improve to 2-0.
 
Karlie Rowe (Niantic, Conn.) led the Owls with four goals in the loss. Samantha Cozzolino (Hamden, Conn.) tallied one goal and had four draw controls.
 
HOW IT HAPPENED
  • The Pioneers scored 10 unanswered goals in the first half. 
  • The Owls offense scored five goals in the second half but were unable to hold LIU Post scoreless to end the game 15-5.
 
FACTS  
  • Freshman Karlie Rowe scored four goals in the contest, this is the most from a freshman since Tessa McNabeo and Samantha Cozzolino scored four on March 17, 2016 against Post.
  • Cozzolino notched a goal in the game to bring her goal total to four on the year and five points total on the year.

The Owls return to action on March 2, 2019 when they will host NYIT at 1 p.m. at Jess Dow Field.
