How It Happened
  • After Southern jumped on the board first with a Fressle three-pointer, Saint Anselm countered with two quick baskets. Both squads traded points, but Amani Boston (Dorcester, Mass.) made a quick jumper to give Southern a 10-8 lead midway through the quarter. Two minutes of play passed and neither team notched a basket until Saint Anselm ended the dry spell. The Hawks went on a 13-2 run over the remaining minutes and finished the first 10 up by seven.
  • Saint Anselm started the second quarter on a 13-3 run and held a 14-point lead midway through the quarter. The Hawks offense continued to roll, allowing them a 17-point lead heading into halftime.
  • The Owls offense found life in the third quarter as they finished on a 10-2 run that cut the Hawks deficit to five points heading into the final 10 minutes of play.
  • The Hawks opened the final quarter on a 10-3 run, but the Owls remained determined to catch their lead and were narrowly outscored 19-15. The Hawks first and fourth quarter surges helped to seal their home victory, 64-55.

Notes
  • Jessica Fressle tallied a career-high 28 points against Saint Anselm. Her previous career-high was set earlier this year against New York Tech on Nov. 20, 2019 when she had 24.

  • Fressle's two blocks are also a career high. She previous notched one block against Stonehill on Jan. 25.
  • Alexa Kellner's nine rebounds tie a career-high she previously set on Jan. 14 against SNHU.
  • Wheeler has recorded double-digit points in nine-straight games, as she scored 11 against the Hawks.
