How It Happened
  • Jefferson came out of the gates hot, starting off on a quick 6-0 run. Southern quickly countered with back-to-back baskets to get within two of the Rams, but Jefferson finished the first quarter on a 12-0 run.
  • The Owls found footing in the second quarter, scoring 13 points, but the Rams came out on top scoring 20 points, which included a 10-0 run midway through the quarter.
  • Third quarter action saw the Rams open on an 8-0 run, extending their lead to 28. Wheeler broke out in this frame shooting, 2-for-2 and collected three assists.
  • In the final quarter of the game, collectively the Owls broke out and outscored the Rams 20-7. Wheeler collected nine of her eventual 16 points while shooting 4-for-5 from the field. Southern's fourth quarter surge to cut a 28-point deficit was halted as Jefferson's steady offense through the first three quarters proved to be the difference-maker.

Notes
  • Blake Greer tallied a career-high nine boards against Jefferson, a feat she previously set back on Nov. 10, 2019, when she had six against Bloomfield.

  • Alexa Kellner's three blocks are a career-high for the redshirt freshman. Her previous career-high was two, set on Nov. 13, 2019 against Queens and has tied that high on two other occasions this season before breaking it against Jefferson.
