Southern Connecticut Athletic Communications will be featuring student-athletes from various teams throughout the remainder of the spring semester and into the summer months. Next up is SCSU Track and Field senior Jack Brown (Lyndon Center, Vt.). Brown was named captain for the 2019-20 season. He also earned All-Region East Honors during the indoor season in all four years he competed and during the 2016, 2017, and 2019 outdoor seasons, was named 2016 Northeast 10 Indoor and Outdoor Field Rookie of the Year, and won the 2016, 2017, and 2018 NE10 Indoor Pole Vault championship and 2017 and 2018 outdoor pole vault championship.

Nickname. What do your teammates call you? Why?	Jumping Jack because I'm a pole vaulter on the team
What is your favorite tv show?	Breaking Bad
What is your favorite movie?	Green Street Hooligans
If someone made a movie about you, who would play your character?	Chris Pratt because I like to have fun with others. Some people say I look a bit like him too.
What professional athlete inspires you? Why?	Lionel Messi because he's a hard-working successful athlete that shows good character no matter the result.
Why did you choose Southern Connecticut? What set it apart from the other schools you visited?	I chose Southern Connecticut because I love the number of things the school offers to their students like clubs, tutoring, great professors, and an overall great environment. The track and field team also treated me like I was already one of them when I went on my first visit.

What's your favorite course that you've taken at Southern Connecticut and why?	Sports Marketing because I was able to make my own sports team and use my creativity to market that team. It was something I found very enjoyable and educational.
What does wearing the SCSU logo mean to you?	Pride, success, and family.
Who is your funniest teammate and why?	Hunter Stokes because every time I see him, he always finds a way to make me laugh.

What is your favorite cereal? What's the strangest talent you have?	Honey Bunches of Oats I can ski down a whole mountain trail with only one ski.
What are three things on your bucket list?	Travel the world, skydive, and attend the FIFA World Cup.
If you could have any one superpower, which would you choose?	The Force
If you could be any animal in the world, what animal would you be and why?	A bear because I come from a family of bears.
