NEW HAVEN, Conn. - The Southern Connecticut field hockey team lost to nationally-ranked No. 10 Stonehill, 4-0, in a Northeast 10 Conference matchup at Jess Dow Field in New Haven, Conn. With the loss, Southern drops to 2-14 overall and 2-11 in conference play while the Skyhawks improve to 13-4 overall and 11-3 in the NE10.

HOW IT HAPPENED
  • The two teams battled through the first 15 minutes of the game, even at 0-0, with both teams matching each one's three shots, each.
  • The game titled in the second quarter as the Skyhawks scored twice, with Maddie House converting on a pass off a corner from Elisha Brinkman to break the scoreless tie before Brinkman gave the Skyhawks a 2-0 lead with her third goal of the season just three minutes later.
  • Callie West also scored off a corner when she tipped a blast from the top of the circle by Andrea Carradona to give the Skyhawks a 3-0 lead.
