ALBANY, N.Y. – Sophomore
Emma McMurray (Middletown, Conn.) scored the game-winning goal as the Southern Connecticut State University women's soccer team upset No. 7 nationally-ranked Saint Rose, 1-0, at the Plumeri Sports Complex. The Owls improved to 6-7-2 overall and 5-5-2 in the Northeast 10, while Saint Rose was dealt its first loss and fell to 11-1-3 overall and 8-1-3 in the NE10.

How It Happened
- The first half was a battle of tight defense and goalkeeping until a late half strike. In the 33rd minute Kaitlyn D'Amico (Middletown, Conn.) gathered the ball on the left side, dribbled through two Golden Knight defenders, and made a run deep before she slotted the ball over to a wide-open McMurray who chipped it into the left of the goalkeeper.
- Saint Rose made a push in the second half and outshot the Owls 10-1, but graduate student Allie Smith (Danbury, Conn.) was solid between the pipes to help lead the Owls to an upset victory over the nationally-ranked Golden Knights.
