The Southern Connecticut State University men's basketball team will begin the 2021-2022 season at the Bridgeport Tournament against Post University on Nov. 13 and Goldey-Beacom on Nov. 14. This will be the Owls first game since March 1, 2020.

Bridgeport Spectator Policy
- Currently, all University of Bridgeport Athletics home athletic events are open to the public in all sports.

Last Time They Met: Southern fell to Post University, 69-64, at the Bridgeport Tournament to begin the 2019-2020 season.
Isaiah Boissard (Walden, N.Y.) led Southern with 16 points, while
Taurus Adams II (Milwaukee, Wisc.) had 15 points and 11 rebounds.
Lyron Bennett (Boston, Mass.) added eight points and seven rebounds in his collegiate debut.
All-Time Against Goldey-Beacom: 2-0
Last Time They Met: Southern erased a 15-point second half deficit to defeat Goldey-Beacom, 72-67, on Nov. 10, 2019 in the second game of the Bridgeport Tournament.
C.J. Seaforth (Hamden, Conn.) tied a game-high with 25 points and went a perfect 10-10 from the free throw line, while Boissard scored 16 points and
Greg Jones (Richmond, Va.) had 11 points.
Season Preview
Southern will return seven players from the 2019-2020 team that went 16-11 overall and 11-8 in the NE10, which earned them a three-seed in the Conference Tournament; Bennett, Seaforth,
Boissard
, Ulyen Coleman (Brockton, Mass.), Zack Penn (New Hartford, Conn.), Elmin Redzepagic (Wolcott, Conn.), and
Jamaal Waters (Hartford, Conn.). Bennett was named to the NE10 All-Rookie Team after he averaged 10.9 points and 5.4 assists per game and shot 44.8 percent overall and 39.7 percent from three-point range. Coleman is set to return after missing the end of the 2018-2019 season and all of the 2019-2020 season. Coleman was named the 2018 NE10 and ECAC Rookie of the Year, and is averaging 14.0 points per game while shooting 44.4 percent overall and 42.9 percent from three-point range for his career. Waters is set to make his Southern debut this season.
Logan Bagshaw (Cumberland, Maine), Evan Gutowski (Trumbull, Conn.), and
Alex Lin (Hillsdale, N.J.) are also set to make their debuts this season after arriving at Southern last year before the cancellation of the 2020-2021 season.
Leo Chaikin (South Hero, Vt.), Cherif Diarra (Queens, N.Y.), Mason Romano (Newington, Conn.), Aaron Russell (Bowie, Md.), and
Kazell Stewart (East Hartford, Conn.) will begin their first years at Southern.
Southern was chosen to finish third in the Southwest Division in the 2021 NE10 Conference Men's Basketball Preseason Coaches' Poll.
