The Southern Connecticut State University lacrosse team begins their season with a road game against American International College on Wednesday March 31, 2021, the Owls' first game since March 8, 2020.
Spectator Policy
Under the direction of the Northeast 10 Conference and adhering to the COVID-10 pandemic protocols adopted by the membership of the NE10, spectators will not be allowed at Ronald J. Abdow Field. The spectator attendance policy will be reviewed throughout the remainder of the season.

All-Time Against AIC: 6-12
The Last Time They Met: Southern last matched up against AIC over two seasons ago on March 27, 2019, a 13-8 loss in Springfield, Mass.
Steph Seymour scored three goals and recorded an assist, while
Kelly Jagodzinski and
Morgan Chase had one goal each, with Chase also having an assist.
Laura Morton had nine saves.
2020 Recap
- Southern began the season 2-1, with wins over Dominican and Post, before falling to two-top 15 opponents to end the season.
- Southern was ranked in the top five in the Northeast 10 in goals scored and assists and led the conference in draw controls, caused turnovers, and saves.
- Bayleigh Takacs tied for the conference lead in points with 19 while being in the top six in goals scored (12) and assists (7). On Feb. 29, 2020 against Post, Takacs tied the program single-game assists record with five, while also scoring a career-high tying four goals, earning NE10 Conference Player of the Week honors.
- Seymour led the NE10 in draw controls with 31. She was named NE10 Player of the Week on Feb. 24, 2020 after tying a program-record with 14 draw controls on Feb. 24 and earned Weekly Honor Roll recognition the following week.
- Hailey Gordon was a two-time NE10 Weekly Honor Roll Recipient, and was ranked in the top 10 in the NE10 in goals scored (11), assists (6), and points (17).
- Morton led the NE10 in saves with 52 and was named NE10 Goalkeeper of the Week on Feb. 24, 2020
2021 Preview
- Southern returns eight starters from last season. Joining Takacs, Seymour, Gordon, Morton, and Rowe, are Chase, Jagodzinski, and Mia Pulisciano
- Rowe, Jagodzisnki, and Pulisciano were three of the Owls top six goal scorers during the 2021 season, while Chase returns as a graduate student having played in 46 career games and scored 18 career goals so far.
- Southern graduated defenders Emily Rossini, Kendall Simmons, and Sara Meza after the 2020 season. Tess McIntosh was one of the key defenders for the Owls last season and earned a start against No. 1 nationally-ranked Le Moyne. She should play a key role defensively this season in her second season.
- Also returning for the Owls is junior Molly Kelly and sophomores Caroline White, Kaylee Swansen, Jessica Amarante, and Tathiana Cortes. White was one of two Southern freshmen to score a goal in 2020.
- Southern welcomes sophomore Jettke Gray, a transfer from Ithaca College, and 12 freshmen: Hannah Holmes, Brianna Shaw, Ailis Wargin, Michela Rutigliano, Payton Papa, Cece Khan, Maggie Kallinich, Savannah Feinberg, Sarah Robbins, Rileigh Bunton, Alexa Alchimio, and Sophie Kurtz.
- Southern was picked to finish fifth in the Southwest Division of NE10 Women's Lacrosse Coaches' Poll, receiving 38 points.
