Seven members of the Southern Connecticut State University Men's Track and Field team will compete in the NCAA Division II Outdoor Track and Field Championships from Thursday, May 27-Saturday May 29, 2021 in Allendale, Mich. at the Grand Valley State Track & Field Stadium.

What You Need To Know
Jordan Davis (Wallingford, Conn.), Nigel Green (Shirley, N.Y.), Turner Kelly (Amityville, N.Y.), Sachin Manning (Bridgeport, Conn.), Christ N'Dabian (Bridgeport, Conn.), Oghenefejiro Onakpoma (Naugatuck, Conn.), and Milan Spisek (Easton, Conn.) will compete for the Owls this week.
 
Nigel Green, 100-Meter Dash, 4x400-Meter Relay
  • Will compete in 100-meter dash on Thursday at 3:30 P.M. and Saturday at 2:20 P.M. by qualifying for finals
  • Will compete in 4x400-meter relay on Friday at 4:05 P.M. and Saturday at 4:00 P.M. by qualifying for finals
  • Qualified in the 100-meter dash with a time of 10.30 and 4x400-meter relay with a time of 3:10.24
  • Northeast 10 Track Athlete of the Year
  • New England 4x400-Meter Relay Champion
  • NE10 Conference Championship Most Outstanding Track Performer
  • NE10 100-Meter and 200-Meter Dash and 4x100-Meter and 4x400-Meter Relay Conference Champion.
  • USTFCCCA All-Region recognition 100-meter, 200-meter, 400-meter, 4x100-meter relay, and 4x400-meter relay 
  • Top Performer in the East Region in the 100-meter and 200-meter dash and 4x100-meter and 4x400-meter relay
  • NE10 Track Athlete of the Week on April 27
  • Five-time NE10 Relay Team of the Week recipient
 
Sachin Manning, Christ N'Dabian, Milan Spisek, Nigel Green, 4x400-Meter Relay
  • Will compete on Friday at 4:05 P.M. and Saturday at 4:00 P.M. by qualifying for finals
  • Qualified with a time 3:10.38
  • Fifth fastest time in program history and fastest since 2013
  • Seed time is third best, behind, trailing just Ashland (3:08.78) and Limestone (3:09.91)
  • Team was the New England and NE10 4x400-Meter Relay Champion
  • All four members were Top Performers in the East Region
  • NE10 Relay Team of the Week on April 12

Jordan Davis, Javelin Throw
  • Will compete on Saturday at 9:30 A.M.
  • Qualified with a mark of 65.10 meters
  • NE10 Field Rookie of the Year
  • New England and NE10 Javelin Throw Championships
  • Top Performer in the East Region in Javelin
  • Two-time NE10 Field Rookie of the Week
  • Recorded throws of at least 62-meters in all five meets, and finished in first place in four of five meets
  • Throw of 65.10 meters on March 26 at the UConn Spring Invite was the the fourth longest throw in program history
 
Fejiro Onakpoma, Triple Jump
  • Will compete on Saturday at 11:15 A.M.
  • Qualified with a leap of 15.26 meters.
  • Has previously qualified for the NCAA Division II Indoor National Championship in 2018, 2019, and 2020, and Outdoor National Championship in 2018 and 2019
  • Three-time All-American
  • Top Performer in the East Region
  • New England and NE10 Triple Jump Champion
  • Two-time NE10 Field Athlete of the Week
  • Three-time USTFCCCA East Region Field Athlete of the Year and two-time NE10 Field Athlete of the Year for his career
 
Turner Kelly, Shot Put
  • Will compete on Saturday at 2:00 P.M.
  • Qualified with a throw of 17.96 meters
  • New England and NE10 Shot Put Champion
  • Throw of 17.96 meters is second best in program history
  • Top Performer in the East Region
  • Finished in top three in all six shot put events competed in this season
  • NE10 Field Athlete of the Week on April 13
  • Three-time NE10 Conference Championship Most Outstanding Field Performer, NE10 Field Athlete of the Year in 2018, and six-time NE10 Shot Put Champion throughout his career

Onakpoma has qualified for the Indoor National Championships in 2018, 2019, and 2020 and Outdoor National Championships in 2018 and 2019 in the triple jump. Green qualified for the 2020 Indoor National Championship in 200-meter dash and 4x400-meter relay. Spisek qualified for the Indoor National Championship in the pole vault in 2019 and 2020.
