MANSFIELD, Mass. – Former Southern Connecticut track & field National Champion and All-American Nick Lebron '15 has been selected for induction into the Northeast 10 Conference Hall of Fame, as announced by the NE10 on Monday, June 28, 2021. Lebron is the first male student-athlete in Southern Connecticut history to receive the conference's highest athletic honor.

"I'm beyond honored to represent the SCSU track and field team," Lebron said. "I wouldn't be here today without my amazing coaches and teammates. Alpha Owls for life!

Lebron is the fifth SCSU student-athlete to be selected for the NE10 Hall of Fame, joining women's track & field's Kateema Riettie, women's soccer's Therese Uliano-Krusewski, women's basketball's Kate Lynch and women's swimming & diving's Amanda Thomas. Lebron is also just the second men's track & field student-athlete in conference history to earn induction.

"What a great honor for Nick Lebron and for Southern Connecticut State University. Nick is the quintessential 'Alpha Owl', he trained as hard as he competed!" SCSU head coach John Wallin said. "He is an incredible leader and always elevated his peers to championship levels. I am very proud of Nick Lebron, both for his athletic accomplishments, and also for the wonderful person he is. Nick is the best representation of SCSU Track and Field."

Lebron won a pair of NCAA Championships in the heptathlon, taking the title in 2012 and 2014 at the NCAA Indoor Track & Field Championships. Lebron was also a seven-time All-American and was selected as the 2014 NE10 Men's Field Athlete of the Year. As a senior that year, he was also named the USTFCCCA Regional Indoor and Outdoor Field Athlete of the Year.

Lebron still holds three school records for his outstanding performances in the pentathlon (indoors), heptathlon (indoors) and decathlon (outdoors). He is a multi-time All-Region and All-New England athlete and also won the heptathlon and decathlon titles at the 2014 New England Indoor and Outdoor Track & Field Championships.
He is also the NCAA Division II all-time record holder, NCAA meet record holder, and all-time New England record holder in the heptathlon.
