MANSFIELD, Mass. – The Southern Connecticut State University women's track & field 2015 4x400 relay team comprised of Crystle Hill, Georgette Nixon, Sarah Hill and Shatajah Wattely have been selected to be inducted into the Northeast 10 Conference Hall of Fame, as announced by the NE10 on Monday, June. 28, 2021.

"Wow! This is an absolute honor to be awarded the chance to be in the NE-10 Hall Of Fame!" Nixon said. "Track & Field has been a blessing. It has changed my life and those around me. It has provided opportunities when there was just inspiration and determination. The thing I've learned along this incredible journey is that hard work truly pays off and having faith goes a long way. I'm grateful for this journey that Crystle, Shatajah, Sarah, and I have been blessed to be on. Once an Alpha Owl, ALWAYS an Alpha Owl. Forever grateful!"

The 4x400 relay team punched its ticket in the history books at the 2015 NCAA Indoor Track & Field Championships by winning the national title in a time of 3:44.91. The relay team earned gold at the University of Alabama – becoming only the second individual NCAA champion in the history of the SCSU women's indoor track & field program, and the fourth track & field championship combined with the outdoor season.

"What a wonderful honor for the ladies to be recognized and inducted to the NE10 Hall of Fame," SCSU head coach Melissa Stoll said. "Their accomplishment on the track continues on to their professional and familial lives, exemplifying their leadership and a magnetic spirit of inspiration to others. A special recognition and honor alongside them are coaches Joe Van Gilder and John Wallin who have mentored and guided the athletes to their incredible achievement and throughout their careers."

This quartet of Owls edged NE10 opponents New Haven and Stonehill at the NCAAs, as well as seven other Division II programs, on its way to first place and First Team All-America honors. It was the first time in NE10 history that a track relay team won an NCAA title.

For their careers, the quartet won 29 All-American honors in four seasons. Wattely was the most decorated of the four student-athletes as she earned 16 All-American honors in the 4x400 relay (6), 400 meters (4), 200 meters (2), 4x100 relay (2) and the 100 meters (1) during the indoor and outdoor seasons. Crystle Hill was a four-time All-American in the 4x400 and also earned honors in the 400 meters, while Nixon was a five-time 4x400 All-American honoree. Sarah Hill was recognized three times in her career in the event.
