Southern Connecticut State University will host Saint Anselm on Friday, Sept. 17 at 7 p.m. at Jess Dow Field for its first home contest, and first Northeast 10 Conference game, of the 2021 season. Southern is currently 1-1 after a season-opening win at Central Connecticut followed by a loss to Stonehill this weekend. Saint Anselm enters the weekend with a record of 0-1 after a season-opening loss at Merrimack.

SCSU ATHLETICS SPECTATOR POLICY
In compliance with the University policy, all individuals - regardless of vaccination status - must wear a mask when attending Friday's game at Jess Dow Field anytime fans are not sitting in their seat or unable to social distance. Â
Spectators will be asked to practice social distancing whenever possible whether indoors or outdoors. There will not be restrictions on fan attendance, specifically related to capacity, but fans are asked to remain in small, communal groups and maintain social distance from other groups while in the stands whenever possible.  Â

SCSU continues to encourage fans and spectators to follow the guidance of public health officials, including social distancing and increased hand hygiene. Spectators will not be permitted near team benches or sidelines and may not interact with student-athletes before, during, or after the conclusion of the event on the playing fields/courts. Per University policy, the wearing of face masks is required in all campus buildings and at outside locations where social distancing is not possible. Â
THE OWLS' LAST TIME OUT
- Southern looks to bounce back against Saint Anselm following a 54-21 loss at Stonehill.
- Jackson Ostrowsky (Mt. Pleasant, Mich.) was 25-for-31 for 271 yards with one touchdown pass. Ostrowsky also rushed for a touchdown in the game.
- Tylon Papallo had five receptions for 123 yards and a 56-yard touchdown while TJ Gardner accounted for the Owls' other score on a one-yard rush.Â
- On defense, Kwadir Delgado-McIntyre (Hamden, Conn.) led the Owls with six tackles while Ben Eichman and Richard Williams, Jr. both had five.Â
- Hasan Dominick and Cameron Belton both recorded a sack in the game.Â
ALL-TIME AGAINST SAINT ANSELM
- The Owls and Hawks have met 20 times since their first meeting in 2000, with Southern owning a 16-4 record in the all-time series.
- Two of Saint Anselm's four wins against Southern came in the first three games of the all-time series, while Southern is 15-2 in the last 17 games.
- Last season, Saint Anselm took a 25-24 decision in Manchester, N.H. after Shawn Donovan scored his third touchdown of the afternoon early in the fourth quarter.
- Brandon Swain-Price finished with 11 receptions for 192 yards and three touchdowns while Jaylynn Cundiff had nine catches for 159 yards.
- Jackson Ostrowsky threw for 411 yards and three touchdowns while the Owls' ground attack accumulated 116 yards for the day.
- On defense, Hasan Dominick had a game-high 10 tackles while Navaughn Austin picked off a pass and Rich Souffrant had two sacks.
NOTES
- Against Stonehill, Tylon Papallo had a team- and season-best 123 yards receiving on five catches.
- Papallo, with receptions of 56 and 52 yards, became the first player since Willie Epps against Pace on Oct. 6, 2012, to record two receptions of 50 yards or more in the same game.Â
- Papallo currently ranks second in the NE10 in receptions (11), third in yards (211) and second in yards per game (109).
- Jackson Ostrowsky currently leads the NE10 in completions (38), attempts (64) and total yards (554) as well as yards-per-game (277.0) among the group of conference quarterbacks with two games played.
- On defense, Kwadir Delgado-McIntyre and Hasan Dominick are tied for seventh in the conference with 15 tackles each.
- Dominick's two sacks for the year rank second in the conference.
- For the year, Southern Connecticut is 4-for-5 in Red Zone attempts.
