NEW HAVEN, Conn. - The Southern Connecticut State University field hockey team fell to No. 8 nationally ranked Saint Anselm College, 5-0, in conference play at Jess Dow Field. With the loss, the Owls fall to 2-4 overall and 2-2 in the Northeast 10, while the Hawks improve to 4-2 overall and 3-1 in the NE10.

How It Happened
- After a scoreless first quarter, Saint Anselm broke the deadlock just over six minutes into the second. A little three minutes later, the Hawks added their second goal of the game. Two minutes after picking up their second goal, they added a third goal on a penalty corner.
- Saint Anselm recorded goals at the five-minute mark in both the third and fourth quarters to extend its lead and capture the victory in New Haven.
- Janelle Ward (Kitchener, Ontario) collected seven saves.
