NEW HAVEN, Conn. – The Southern Connecticut State University women's basketball team fell to Franklin Pierce University, 77-66, at Moore Field House. With the loss, the Owls fell to 6-7 overall and 3-4 in the Northeast 10, while the Ravens improved to 6-5 overall and 2-3 in the NE10.
Graduate student Jessica Fressle (Levittown, N.Y.) led all players with a game-high 25 points, a game-high 15 rebounds, and a game-high six steals. Senior Zoë Amalbert (Nanuet, N.Y.) had a game-high 11 assists, while graduate student Patricia Conroy (Staten Island, N.Y.) chipped in 16 points and senior Delaney Connors (West Hartford, Conn.) had 10 points.

How It Happened
- Franklin Pierce struck first and took a 15-6 lead with 4:34 remaining in the first quarter. Fressle jump-started the Owls' offense with two free throws and a made jumper and Conroy converted on a layup off a feed from Amalbert to bring the score to 15-12 with 1:35 left. The Ravens scored the quarter's last five points to take an eight-point lead into the second. Fressle led Southern with eight points in the quarter.
- The Ravens maintained a nine-point lead after the first three-and-a-half minutes of the quarter, but then ripped off a 17-3 run to take a 42-19 lead with 3:12 remaining. Amalbert and Conroy both made a three-pointer sandwiched between a made free throw by Franklin Pierce to cut the score down to 43-25 heading into halftime. Fressle scored 13 points and grabbed 10 rebounds during the first half of action.
- Southern outscored the Ravens 24-19 in the third quarter as Fressle, Conroy, and Amalbert scored six points each. After Franklin Pierce took a 52-32 lead with 5:47 remaining, Milner made a free throw and Amalbert made a three-pointer to get Southern's offense going. Southern then ended the quarter on an 11-4 run in the final three minutes and 20 seconds, highlighted by another made three-pointer by Amalbert and an and-one by Connors to bring the lead down to 62-49.
- Franklin Pierce extended their lead to 15 to begin the fourth quarter, but Amalbert continued her strong second half with another made three-pointer, Conroy made a layup after a turnover, and Williamson made a free throw to bring Southern's deficit to nine with 4:47 remaining. Franklin Pierce went on a 7-0 run immediately after to pull away and win 77-66.

- Jessica Fressle notched her sixth double-double of the season with 25 points and 15 rebounds against Franklin Pierce.
- Fressle topped a career-high in steals with six on the night. Her previous career-high of five steals was also against Franklin Pierce on Jan. 22, 2020.
- Zoë Amalbert tied a career-high in assists with 11. She set that record on Jan. 5, 2022 against Adelphi.
