Assumption Spectator Policy
- Prior registration to attend on-campus events is no longer required. Instead, all spectators will be required to show proof of full vaccination against COVID-19 or a negative test administered within the past 72 hours.All students, faculty, and staff are required to be fully vaccinated—and those with approved exemptions are required to test each week.
- External guests age 2 and older must bring a physical or electronic copy of their CDC vaccination card or documentation of a negative COVID-19 PCR taken within three days of the event. Test results must be in the form of written paper or electronic medical documentation and must include the guest's name, test result, type of test, entity issuing the result and the specimen collection date.
- As always, face coverings are required inside all Assumption University buildings at all times. Fans who do not comply with our University policies will not be admitted. If you or someone in your party are experiencing symptoms prior to attending the contest, please do not attend.
Last Time Out
Southern lost to Stonehill, 80-65, at Merkert Gymnasium despite a career-high in points scored by
Lyron Bennett (Boston, Mass.), who had 23 on 9-of-16 shooting.
Jamaal Waters (Hartford, Conn.) came off the bench to score 10 points and grab eight rebounds, while
Sean James (West Hartford, Conn.) recorded eight points.

Last Time They Met: Southern completed a 19-point comeback over Assumption on Jan. 28, 2020 at James Moore Field House, highlighted by layup at the buzzer
Levar Allen (Richmond, Va.) that gave the Owls a 69-67 win.
Isaiah Boissard (Walden, N.Y.) led the offense for the Owls with 21 points, while
Greg Jones (Bronx, N.Y.) scored 14 points and grabbed 13 rebounds.
Taurus Adams II and
C.J. Seaforth (Hamden, Conn.) added 12 points apiece.
Southern has won eight consecutive games over Assumption dating back to the 2012-2013 season, with four of those wins coming on the road.
Northeast 10 Weekly Honors
Week 7:
- Penn was named to the NE10 Weekly Honor Roll he recorded a team-high 16 points on 6-of-11 shooting while also grabbing nine rebounds against Adelphi. His point total and field goals made were also new career-highs for a single game.
Week 6:
- Bennett was named to the NE10 Weekly Honor Roll following his performance against Holy Family. He recorded his second double-double of the season and third of his career with 15 points and 10 rebounds. Bennett also dished out six assists while shooting 6-of-10 from the field and 2-of-5 from beyond the arc.
Week 5:
- Bennett was named to the NE10 Weekly Honor Roll following his performances against Saint Rose and Lincoln. Bennett averaged 12 points, nine assists, 4.5 rebounds, and 3.5 steals per game.
Week 2:
- Coleman was named to the NE10 Weekly Honor Roll after he scored 20 points on 8-of-11 shooting and 3-of-6 from three-point range on the road against Jefferson. He also recorded a career-high five steals to go along with three rebounds
Week 1
- Bennett was named to the NE10 Weekly Honor Roll following his performances at the Bridgeport Tournament. Bennett averaged 16 points, 6.5 assists, and 4.5 rebounds per game while going 11-for-17 from the field and 4-for-9 from three-point range.
NE10 Ranks
- Bennett is fourth in assists per game at 5.5 and fifth in steals per game at 1.7.
- Zack Penn (New Hartford, Conn.) is third in rebounds per game at 8.2.
- Jamaal Waters (Hartford, Conn.) is fourth in blocks per game at 1.2, while Penn is fifth at 1.1.
