Southern Connecticut State University baseball head coach
Tim Shea has announced the Owls' 2022 schedule, which features trips to Hialeah, Fla., Boca Raton, Fla. and Myrtle Beach, S.C. as well as nine home dates at The Ballpark at SCSU.
The Owls open the season in Hialeah, Fla. for a four-day trip that features a doubleheader against Florida National University on Saturday, Feb. 19. Southern will then head to Myrtle Beach, S.C. to take on Dominican on Friday, Feb. 25, followed by a doubleheader against Felician on Saturday, Feb. 26 and Chestnut Hill on Sunday, Feb. 27.
After a weekend series against Mercy on Mar. 5-6, including the Owls' home opener on Sunday, Mar. 6, Southern will head to Boca Raton for an eight-game Spring Break trip featuring games against Bloomfield, Molloy (doubleheader), Saint Thomas Aquinas, Scout USA, Lynn University and Post (DH). The Owls will return to open Northeast 10 Conference Southwest Division play with a four-game weekend series at the College of Saint Rose on Mar. 26-27. The Owls host their first NE10 competition of the year when Le Moyne visits The Ballpark at SCSU on Apr. 2-3.
April continues with a pair of doubleheaders against Adelphi on Apr. 9-10, followed by four non-conference games at Brigdeport on Wednesday, Apr. 19, at home against Stonehill on Thursday, Apr. 14 and at Stonehill on Saturday, Apr. 16 before its final non-conference game at home against Bridgeport on Tuesday, Apr. 19. The remainder of the Owls' schedule features road series at Pace on Apr. 23 and 24 followed by a trip to American International on Apr. 29-30 and May 1. Southern's regular season concludes with a two-day, four-game set against Elm City rival University of New Haven on May 6-7 with the NE10 Tournament to open on Tuesday, May 10.
