SCSU Field Hockey Falls To Saint Anselm

MANCHESTER, N.H. - Southern Connecticut State University field hockey lost to Saint Anselm, 5-0, in a Northeast 10 Conference matchup in Manchester, N.H. With the loss, Southern drops to 3-6 overall and 2-3 in the NE10 while Saint Anselm improves to 4-4 overall and 3-1 in conference play. 

All five of Saint Anselm's goals came in the first half, led by Maggie Malloy's hat trick with Shannon Walsh and Shelby Dunn added goals for the Hawks. 

Down the stretch, Owls freshman goalkeeper Kaitlyn Parent (Glastonbury, Conn.) blanks the high-scoring Hawks with six saves in the final 30 minutes of play. Southern rattled off five shots-on-goal in the final quarter but could not break through. 

The Owls are back in action on Tuesday, Oct. 11 when they host Saint Thomas Aquinas for a NE10 matchup at 3 p.m. at Jess Dow Field. The Owls will also host Saint Michael's for Homecoming Weekend on Friday, Oct. 14 at 2 p.m.
