The Southern Connecticut State University men's basketball team will begin a four-game road trip, starting on Saturday, Feb. 12 against Le Moyne and Monday, Feb. 14, against Saint Michael's.

Le Moyne Spectator Policy 
  • Fans are allowed at all contests.
  • Masking indoors is mandatory on campus, regardless of vaccination status.
Saint Michael's Spectator Policy 
  • Fans are currently allowed to attend contests. Masks must be worn for all indoor sporting events, regardless of vaccination status.
  • Saint Michael's expects that all vaccine-eligible visitors to campus, including fans attending athletic events, will be fully vaccinated. Current health and safety protocols dictate that our concession stand at the Ross Sports Center will remain closed for the foreseeable future. Plans for concession services at Cairns Arena are still under consideration at this time. No outside food or beverage will be permitted at events in the Ross Sports Center or Cairns Arena until further notice.
Last Time Out:
Southern lost to Pace, 77-50, on Thursday, Feb. 10, 2022. Logan Bagshaw (Cumberland, Maine) scored 11 points and made four of his eight shot attempts from the field, and went 3-for-5 from beyond the arc, while C.J. Seaforth (Hamden, Conn.) scored 10 and went 3-for-6 overall and 2-for-5 from three-point range.   

All-Time Against Le Moyne: 19-27
Last Time They Met: Southern fell to Le Moyne, 56-55, on Dec. 4 at Moore Field House. Lyron Bennett (Boston, Mass.) led the scoring for Southern with 15 points, while also dishing out four assists and recording four steals. Ulyen Coleman (Brockton, Mass.) scored 14 points and grabbed eight rebounds. Off the bench, Jamaal Waters (Hartford, Conn.) scored six points and blocked five shots in 17 minutes. 

All-Time Against Saint Michael's: 17-19
Last Time They Met: Southern last played Saint Michael's on Jan. 18, 2020, and won at Moore Field House 63-61. Khalil Richard scored 20-points and he shot 6-for-13 from the field and 5-for-8 from beyond the arc. Taurus Adams II registered a double-double with 14 points and 11 rebounds. Greg Jones reached double-digit points with 10, and also pulled down seven rebounds. 

Southern has won six straight games against Saint Michael's, with the last two games decided by single-digits.

Northeast 10 Weekly Honors
Week 10:
  •  C.J. Seaforth (Hamden, Conn.) was named to the Northeast 10 Weekly Honor Roll after he averaged 16.5 points per game while shooting 52.2 percent from the field and 40 percent from three-point range in the two road games against Assumption and Pace.
Week 7:
  • Penn was named to the NE10 Weekly Honor Roll he recorded a team-high 16 points on 6-of-11 shooting while also grabbing nine rebounds against Adelphi. His point total and field goals made were also new career-highs for a single game.

Week 6: 
  • Bennett was named to the NE10 Weekly Honor Roll following his performance against Holy Family. He recorded his second double-double of the season and third of his career with 15 points and 10 rebounds. Bennett also dished out six assists while shooting 6-of-10 from the field and 2-of-5 from beyond the arc.

Week 5:
  • Bennett was named to the NE10 Weekly Honor Roll following his performances against Saint Rose and Lincoln. Bennett averaged 12 points, nine assists, 4.5 rebounds, and 3.5 steals per game. 
Week 2:
  • Coleman was named to the NE10 Weekly Honor Roll after he scored 20 points on 8-of-11 shooting and 3-of-6 from three-point range on the road against Jefferson. He also recorded a career-high five steals to go along with three rebounds
Week 1
  • Bennett was named to the NE10 Weekly Honor Roll following his performances at the Bridgeport Tournament. Bennett averaged 16 points, 6.5 assists, and 4.5 rebounds per game while going 11-for-17 from the field and 4-for-9 from three-point range. 

NE10 Ranks
  • Bennett is fifth in assists per game at 5.1, tied for eighth in assists-to-turnover ratio at 1.9, and tied for 10th in steals per game at 1.4.
  • Penn is sixth in rebounds per game at 7.5. 
  • Waters for fourth in blocks per game at 1.3, while Penn is tied for eighth at 0.9.
