The Southern Connecticut State University men's basketball team will wrap up their four-game road trip when they play The College of Saint Rose in their final road game of the regular season on Saturday, Feb. 19, 2022 at 3:30 p.m. in Daniel P. Nolan Gymnasium.

Saint Rose Spectator Policy 
  • The College of Saint Rose expects that all visitors to campus, including those attending academic, advancement, athletic, and student-led events, are fully vaccinated.   • In accordance with The College of Saint Rose's COVID-19 policy, all employees, students, and guests must wear masks inside all College buildings, including at all College events. This includes all guests and visitors to the campus. No exceptions. Guests without masks will be provided with a mask. Attendees at events who decline to wear a mask will be asked to leave the event and the building where the event is taking place.
Last Time Out:
Southern was defeated by University of New Haven, 70-56, on Wednesday, Feb. 16, 2022. Ulyen Coleman (Brockton, Mass.) had another strong performance for the Owls, as he scored a game-high 23 points and grabbed 13 rebounds. Isaiah Boissard (Walden, N.Y.) and Leo Chaikin (South Hero, Vt.) both provided a spark off the bench, with Boissard scoring nine points on 4-of-5 shooting and Chaikin with six points on a perfect 3-for-3 from the field. 

All-Time Against Saint Rose: 20-23
Last Time They Met: Southern defeated The College of Saint Rose, 85-69, on Tuesday, Dec. 7, 2021 at James Moore Field House. Lyron Bennett (Boston, Mass.) tied a career-high with 12 assists, while also scoring 16 points on 7-of-13 shooting and grabbing six rebounds. Coleman scored a team-high 16 points on 7-of-15 shooting, and C.J. Seaforth (Hamden, Conn.) scored 15 points on 6-of-10 shooting and made three of his five three-point attempts. Zack Penn (New Hartford, Conn.) scored 13 points, grabbed seven rebounds, and blocked three shots, while Jamaal Waters (Hartford, Conn.) also scored 13 points on 6-of-7 shooting. 

Southern has defeated Saint Rose in six consecutive games, and their last five wins against the Golden Knights have all been by at least 10 points.

  • Seaforth has 994 points for his career.
  • Coleman has 945 points for his career.
  • Head Coach Scott Burrell has won 98 games in his career.
  • Bennett has recorded at least 100 assists in back-to-back seasons to begin his collegiate career, and has scored 590 total points in his first two seasons. 

Northeast 10 Weekly Honors
Week 10:
  •  C.J. Seaforth (Hamden, Conn.) was named to the Northeast 10 Weekly Honor Roll after he averaged 16.5 points per game while shooting 52.2 percent from the field and 40 percent from three-point range in the two road games against Assumption and Pace.
Week 7:
  • Penn was named to the NE10 Weekly Honor Roll he recorded a team-high 16 points on 6-of-11 shooting while also grabbing nine rebounds against Adelphi. His point total and field goals made were also new career-highs for a single game.

Week 6: 
  • Bennett was named to the NE10 Weekly Honor Roll following his performance against Holy Family. He recorded his second double-double of the season and third of his career with 15 points and 10 rebounds. Bennett also dished out six assists while shooting 6-of-10 from the field and 2-of-5 from beyond the arc.

Week 5:
  • Bennett was named to the NE10 Weekly Honor Roll following his performances against Saint Rose and Lincoln. Bennett averaged 12 points, nine assists, 4.5 rebounds, and 3.5 steals per game. 
Week 2:
  • Coleman was named to the NE10 Weekly Honor Roll after he scored 20 points on 8-of-11 shooting and 3-of-6 from three-point range on the road against Jefferson. He also recorded a career-high five steals to go along with three rebounds
Week 1
  • Bennett was named to the NE10 Weekly Honor Roll following his performances at the Bridgeport Tournament. Bennett averaged 16 points, 6.5 assists, and 4.5 rebounds per game while going 11-for-17 from the field and 4-for-9 from three-point range. 

NE10 Ranks
  • Bennett is fifth in assists per game at 4.7 and tied for 10th in assists-to-turnover ratio at 1.8.
  • Bennett is one of two players in the NE10 with at least 100 assists and 300 points scored this season (also Isaiah Moore of Franklin Pierce).
  • Penn is seventh in rebounds per game at 7.5. 
  • Waters is fourth in blocks per game at 1.3, while Penn is tied for 10th at 0.9.
