The Southern Connecticut State University men's basketball team will play their final two games of the regular season as they host Saint Anselm on Monday, Feb. 21, 2022 at 1:00 p.m. and Adelphi on Tuesday, Feb. 22, 2022 at 7:30 p.m. Southern will honor C.J. Seaforth (Hamden, Conn.) and Isaiah Boissard (Walden, N.Y.) for Senior Day prior to Tuesday's game against the Panthers.

SCSU Spectator Policy 
  • In compliance with the university's policy, spectators will be permitted regardless of vaccination status and will be required to wear a mask inside James Moore Field House and all surrounding areas at all times. Spectators should also maintain 3-feet of physical distancing between parties. Access to the main level and court will not be permitted, and all seating will be located on the second floor. 
Last Time Out:
Southern was defeated by The College of Saint Rose, 93-61, on Saturday, Feb. 19, 2022. C.J. Seaforth (Hamden, Conn.) scored the 1,000th point of his collegiate career during the first half of action, and totaled 10 points for the game on 5-for-11 shooting. Lyron Bennett (Boston, Mass.) had a team-high 16 points, while Isaiah Boissard (Walden, N.Y.) scored 12. Ulyen Coleman (Brockton, Mass.) had four steals and seven rebounds.  

All-Time Against Saint Anselm: 23-11
Last Time They Met: Southern fell to Saint Anselm, 97-82, on the road on Feb. 1, 2020. Seaforth had a team-high 21 points and five made three-pointers, and Taurus Adams II scored 16 points and went 7-for-13 from the field. Greg Jones scored 15 points while Isaiah Boissard (Walden, N.Y.) scored 12 points and shot 5-for-8 from the field. Levar Allen scored nine points and added a career-high eight assists.

All-Time Against Adelphi : 15-28
Last Time They Met: Southern lost to Adelphi, 83-71, on Jan. 5, 2022 at the Center for Recreation and Sport. Zack Penn (New Hartford, Conn.) scored a team-high 16 points on 6-of-11 shooting and pulled down nine rebounds. Lyron Bennett (Boston, Mass.) had 14 points and seven assists, while Alex Lin (Hillsdale, N.J.) had 12 points and Aaron Russell (Bowie, Md.) had 11 points. Elmin Redzepagic (Wolcott, Conn.) had a career-game in his first start, as he grabbed 13 rebounds and scored eight points on 3-of-6 shooting. 

Milestone Watch
  • Seaforth scored his 1,000th career point on Feb. 19 against Saint Rose. He now has 1,004 for his career, with 958 points coming at Southern.
  • Coleman has 952 points for his career.
  • Head Coach Scott Burrell has won 98 games in his career.
  • Bennett has recorded at least 100 assists in back-to-back seasons to begin his collegiate career, and has scored 606 total points in his first two seasons. 

2022 Seniors
Southern will honor C.J. Seaforth and Isaiah Boissard for Senior Day. Seaforth has played in 77 games during three seasons at Southern, and has averaged 12.44 points while shooting 38.0 percent from three-point range 84.4 percent from the free throw line. Seaforth led the team in three-point percent in each of the last three seasons. During the 2019 Northeast 10 Conference Tournament, Seaforth averaged 22.3 points per game on 48.7 percent shooting and 44.8 percent from three-point range. 

Boissard has played in 39 games for the Owls over the last two seasons, and has made 30 starts while averaging 9.1 points per game. Against Bloomfield this season on Feb. 2, he scored 20 points on 7-for-14 shooting in an overtime victory. Boissard put up 31 points on 9-for-14 shooting during an overtime road victory against Pace on Feb. 11, 2020.

Northeast 10 Weekly Honors
Week 10:
  •  C.J. Seaforth (Hamden, Conn.) was named to the Northeast 10 Weekly Honor Roll after he averaged 16.5 points per game while shooting 52.2 percent from the field and 40 percent from three-point range in the two road games against Assumption and Pace.
Week 7:
  • Penn was named to the NE10 Weekly Honor Roll he recorded a team-high 16 points on 6-of-11 shooting while also grabbing nine rebounds against Adelphi. His point total and field goals made were also new career-highs for a single game.

Week 6: 
  • Bennett was named to the NE10 Weekly Honor Roll following his performance against Holy Family. He recorded his second double-double of the season and third of his career with 15 points and 10 rebounds. Bennett also dished out six assists while shooting 6-of-10 from the field and 2-of-5 from beyond the arc.

Week 5:
  • Bennett was named to the NE10 Weekly Honor Roll following his performances against Saint Rose and Lincoln. Bennett averaged 12 points, nine assists, 4.5 rebounds, and 3.5 steals per game. 
Week 2:
  • Coleman was named to the NE10 Weekly Honor Roll after he scored 20 points on 8-of-11 shooting and 3-of-6 from three-point range on the road against Jefferson. He also recorded a career-high five steals to go along with three rebounds
Week 1
  • Bennett was named to the NE10 Weekly Honor Roll following his performances at the Bridgeport Tournament. Bennett averaged 16 points, 6.5 assists, and 4.5 rebounds per game while going 11-for-17 from the field and 4-for-9 from three-point range. 

NE10 Ranks
  • Bennett is fifth in assists per game at 4.6.
  • Bennett is one of three players in the NE10 with at least 100 assists and 300 points scored this season (also Isaiah Moore of Franklin Pierce, Brandon Jacobs of Pace).
  • Penn is eighth in rebounds per game at 7.5. 
  • Waters is fourth in blocks per game at 1.3, while Penn is 10th at 0.9.
